What a screenshot leaves out
“The chart rose sharply” omits the symbol, provider, comparison window and percentage baseline. The FXCIPI Global Trading worksheet journal keeps these conditions with the observation.
A hypothetical entry
Objects: example A and B. Window: the same observation time on invented day one through day three. Source: this site's comparison exercise. Inputs: A 100→105, B 200→206. Calculation: 5%, 3%, a two-percentage-point difference. Scope: price change in that interval, not account profit or a forecast.
When using public chart observations, add the exact symbol, provider, time zone and source URL. Do not relabel the exercise data as a real market observation.
Keep three sentences separate
Observation: what did the source show? Calculation: which inputs and expression produced the result? Interpretation: what follows, and what remains unknown? “The price rose after the release” is different from proving that the release caused it.
Correct with a revision note
Preserve the original entry and append the correction time, changed input and reason. Keep initial and revised release values separately. If an expression was wrong, record its denominator so the error can be understood.
Export before closing
The worksheet downloads a TXT record. It does not send inputs to a server or save them in an account. Export any record you want to keep before refreshing or closing the page. Account passwords and recovery phrases have no place in the observation note.
